Delicacy, elegance, sensuality and timeless design create a diamond brooch of note. Understated grandeur is clearly apparent in this antique 2.38 Ct diamond brooch.
A sensual open work rendering of a flower motif allows for leaf shapes and sparkling diamonds to be displayed to their finest. Curves and arches encapsulate the essence the period in a flower form .
Sparkling lines curving back onto itself, leaves and flower forms, whiplash lines are set with seventy three (43) old European and few rose cut diamonds totalling approx 2.38 Ct.
An overall sense of dynamism with leaves portrayed as scrolling elements, sinuous curved lines show a free-flowing sense of whimsy and an underlying movement almost alive with energy.
The reverse reveal a secure brooch clasp and a small fitting so this could easily be made into a pendant. Artfully crafted in 14 Kt yellow gold and silver for diamonds’ setting.
Very good overall condition commensurate to use and age.
Great addition to any collection, a must have period piece, so representative of the Art Nouveau movement.
