Jewels were used in Victorian literature and art to convey a message. Used extensively throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, enigmatic meanings were assigned to a wide variety of flowers and flora motifs, all arrangements to convey feelings and sentiments without the use of words.
History, style and aesthetics rule with this natural pearl, turquoise and diamond romantic flower themed and enamelled pendant from Victorian era.
Composed of two elements, here sentiments and emotions have been translated into a beautiful pendant with meaningful gemstones, white enamelled flowers and pearl blossoms and open work details, culminating in a dancing turquoise drop of approx .60 Ct.
The principal element is an oval domed cabochon cut natural turquoise of approx 2.33 Ct, symbolizing “true blue”, faithful love and memories set on a coronet mounting in a sophisticated frame with white enamel and gold dots.
Dramatically ornate, around the center turquoise flows from white enamelled flower enhanced by shimmering natural split pearls and rose cut diamonds totalling approx .10 Ct by spread, to organic forms re-defined through the eye of a jeweller. Delicate textural accenting stimulate the senses without excess.
Artfully crafted in 15 Kt yellow gold and silver, completed by a lavish gold wash typical of Victorian era and its original bail.
Very good overall condition commensurate to use and age, wear consistent with age.
